If  you have joined me from Courtenay‘s blog welcome!  If you are starting here, enjoy following the blog hop all the way around as there are some incredible talented stampers out there!

Today I am showcasing the new Climbing Orchid Bundle stamps and framelits from the 2017/18 Annual Catalogue.  These two items when teamed together make it so easy to whip up a beautiful card!  Here I have made two, one which is just the stamped orchid image and the second card using the “building” components so you can see just how easy it is to step it up a notch, add more colour, and add some more dimension to your project. I used my bone folder to curl the petals and leaves for even more dimension.

I have also used as highlights on the card the gorgeous sparkly new embellishments Glitter Enamel Dots.  The papers are the new Color Theory DSP Stack, I focused on the new In-Color Berry Burst which is fast becoming my new favourite pink!

What is your new favourite item?  Let me know!

Now off to the lovely talent Barbara Williams!

Hello all!!  Welcome to my first ever blog hop participation!  For those of you that have joined us here, hope you enjoy the show, for those of you who have hopped in from Narelle Fasulo‘s blog, isn’t she amazing? Love that there are so many talented SU! Demos in the South Pacific region.

As you can see from the title, we are saying goodbye to some of our present catalogue to make way for the gorgeous new stuff that is just waiting to seen!  And it is just beautiful. I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak in Amsterdam a couple of weeks ago.

In my little project today I’m preparing to say goodbye to all things butterfly.  Yep, not only are we waving farewell to both our butterfly punches, but the stamp sets that have gone with them.  I am rather sad to be loosing these, because, let’s admit it, who hasn’t used their Bitty Butterfly punch to hide a mistake on a card??  It’s funny how random butterflies just pop up over the place.  I’m also showcasing 4 of the retiring In-Colors, Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, Mint Macaron and Delightful Dijon.

final-18final-20

I’ve made a home decor item using the two butterfly punches, Papillon Potpourii, and Kinda Eclectic. It’s a cute piece that I have now placed on my dining table.  Although my husband says they look like they are pooping silver streams, my son thinks they are cute, so his vote wins!

I have used picture frame wire (separated the strands), and my hot glue gun to assemble these little cuties and then decorated the jar holding them with some of the retiring paper stack, ribbon and sequins. Yes, the big sequins are going, but there are tiny cute ones coming in to replace them!! Shiny!

Bye bye, butterflies! Sob!!

Hope you enjoy this project, any questions please ask.

Now it is time to hop along to the next talented Demo, Nicole Wilson!

Time for tea, Mambo style!

Time for tea, Mambo style!

I must admit that Melon Mambo is one of my all time favourite colours. I love any excuse to use it. When I made my Time for Tea card, I spotted a sheet of DSP similar style in my fav colour…what could go wrong?

Well!!

I need some white embossing powder to start with, but I’m too impatient to wait the weeks it will take to get to me (I’m waiting for an order and can’t order until I have the one I’m waiting for!). So I decided to go ahead with White Craft ink and clear embossing powder. Looks dreadful, so I’ll have to remake it later! Next drama was the spritzing. It just didn’t look right, so I asked fellow demos for some help and they were brilliant! Thanks ESAD and Elite!

Like how it turned out? I used a touch of Wink of Stella on the doily, and then on the ribbon (I think I have a Wink of Stella addiction !)

Thanks AmyK for the inspiration. What have you created today?

Tea time!!

Tea time!!

After three weeks I finally got my new stamps and papers and boy what fun! I love all things “tea” so when I saw this one I knew I had to have it!

So I trawled Pinterest and found a lovely simple card by AmyK, and gave it my own twist. The little lace doilies work really well with this stamp set. I will say this for the lace doilies, they are very thin, so double check when you seperate them to make sure you only have a single one! I taped my doily on then lifted up the piece I had just assembled and the doily fell off!! But then I realised I still had the piece I’d taped on firmly in place…oops!

Saying Thanks to those who support me.

Saying Thanks to those who support me.

SU! have a great group of people working for them supporting us a Demonstrators. Being on Military Status I ask a lot of questions because I’m on the other side of the world and can’t share things with my fellow demo’s like I would if I were home. One of things I have to do is send in a form annually, so I thought this year, I’d make a fun card to say “Thanks” for answering all those questions I keep asking (especially the how much does it weigh question!)

I’ve marked where I am on the map, used the Wink of Stella to give a bit of shine to an otherwise dull image, and made a cheeky punch art owl to give a smile!

Happy Birthday to the man who supports my crazy hobbies!

Happy Birthday to the man who supports my crazy hobbies!

Well it’s the other half’s birthday and I thought I had better make him a card as it’s his job paying for all my stash!

My original intention was to CASE the star card on page 38 of the Occassions catty, but that quickly spiralled out of control. I think it was the diagonal cuts, I like straight lines, but tilted lines even if they are straight still look wrong to me!! And it needed some shine. (Yes I know it’s a blokes card, but he is my experimental Guinea pig!) And after the shine it needed something else, so then out came the gold twine. And I love it!

Hope the birthday boy will too!

Going Global birthday card

Going Global birthday card

This is a card I made from a design that we got at OnStage in Brussels last year. It was supposed to go in the DipBag on Monday but tired mummy brain (thank you gastro bug!) made me forget.

I masked the arrowhead stamps from “You’re So Lovely” to line up with the ‘For you’ stamp in that set, works a treat! Hope my big brother enjoys it, even if it will be late!

Perpetual Birthday Calendar

Perpetual Birthday Calendar

As a part of the #imbringingbirtdaysback movement, I thought it would be a good idea to finally put together this kit I got last year.

Now I must let you in on a little secret, I sometimes struggle with kits. Yes, I know they are supposed to make things easy, but I find myself only ever making what is in the instructions and this kit just cried out for going off the rules and to be personalised. And I struggled! I would pull it out, look at it and come up blank then put it away again. BUT IT NEEDED TO BE DONE! So I finally got over my nerves and did it!

Is it perfect? No, I had some 10yr old help, he sponged, stickered AND stamped! But it’s done! I have yet to stick on the glitter and sequins, but the bulk of it is finished.

Am I pleased with it? Yes! And that is the most important thing!

Laying it all out trying to figure out what goes where.

Finished with the stamping, now to glitter and sequin it!

One thing I did was use all the paper bits, as the banners didn’t work too well with the heart and star shapes I used my snips to cut them in half and then stick them on the shape so they looked normal.

Now to start filling it in and make some birthday cards (Big Bro is first as his will need to go in the Dip Bag on Monday).

Want a birthday card? Send me your details!

And they are finished! Now to add names.

Hamburger Box Die! When I first laid eyes on it, I just did not understand the fascination, but it makes for some of the easiest and cutest packaging out there and pairs beautifully with the Fry Box Die.  As I’m preparing for my son’s birthday in a couple of weeks, this is one of the items I’m planning on using for take homes!  Keep your eyes open to see what I create.

Made my own birthday card!

Standard

Well it’s my birthday and this year I’m not celebrating with 600 friends at the Embassy suffering from jet-lag. We’re having a quiet dinner just the three of us. Yay! I did however make myself a quick simple card to let me know to have fun.

Crazy I know, but as I didn’t get anything birthday related in the Dip Bag this week I needed to cheer myself up.

Like it? I love it! The single flower from the new Birthday Blooms set works really well with the floral images from the Pretty Petals DSP stack and not sure if you can see the sparkle, but the Wink of Stella pen makes even simple things shine!

Grateful to be back creating after being away for a while. Looking forward to getting some more made tomorrow. What have you made today?
