The month is rolling on, and I’m actually keeping on top of this which makes a change! We’re off on holidays soon, so will have to complete it when I get back home, but I will be taking it across the UK with me to keep up with my journaling, so I know what I’ve been up to. On to the latest installment.
Simple, just stickers and some stamped images, and a short piece of washi. Guess what I figured out? See that little gold glimmer star? I punched that out of the sheet of sticker words that come as a part of the embellishments!! Just peeled off the backing and stuck it on.
I forgot to take a photo today, so I jazzed up a filler card with stamps, washi tape and sequins. I have a theory about my gold sequins…they hate me and refuse to come out of the little bag they are in, cheeky blighters.
Need I say that fine gold thread can be really frustrating?
That gold thread goes down easier with big sticky things! And the washi tape really can brighten up a card.
Here are the next batch of pages. It’s easy to keep up having done the layout first, although the having turned day 5 into a 2 page spread, I know have to go and change the rest of the pages, but that will be easy.
With day 2 I used two images that I took as we drove around town that night. After all it’s not every day that Kingdom Tower is lit like a Christmas tree, and who can go past a shoe bath!?
Day 5 had so many fun images that I decided to make a two page spread of it. I bordered one photo with the washi tape, and used that fabulous fine tipped glue pen to stick those acetate stars down. One word of advice is as they are slippery little suckers it is easier to put glue in the spot you want them to go rather than gluing them and moving them into position, because they really can fly!
Day 6 I did something a little daring, I CUT MY PHOTO IN HALF!!! I know there are some people out there who will faint at the thought of doing that, but it’s just a photo, I can print more. And being daring suits a Doctor Who page don’t you think?
Day 7 was simple, just stamping as embellishments. The little row of trees was fun to stamp, photopolymer makes it easy to line them up.
So, now to journal.
What did you create today?
On a roll, this one was very quick, took all of about 15min. Used a little of the washi tape across the top of my journaling card and some sequins. That new fine tipped glue pen is getting a real work out, I’m loving it!
Now I need to make some Christmas cards and an Anniversary card.
What have you created today?
Well here is my day three effort. Which in all reality was no effort at all! The main challenge I had was remembering to take a photo. Mostly because nothing really happened, but in our house story time is an important part of going to bed and bonding. So I should have a picture of it somewhere right!
Very simple today, just a quick sticker on the photo and stamp and trim the banner, write the title and loops some pretty fine gold thread.
Simple is what this whole Project Life concept is about, so you can record things every day!
What did you create today?
I’ve done this page up finally, and now that I’ve photographed it for you I can do the journaling. We had fun putting the tree up and my son loved decorating it himself. It’s taking all my self control not to rearrange it!
The stamp sets being photopolymer allow for excellent lining up of the images, I then fussy cut out the little tags and it just gives a small boost to the page, plus my sequins and gold glimmer paper.
Hope you like it, what did you make today?
Last year I “had a go” and failed badly at this aspect of Project Life record keeping. Probably as life was extremely chaotic in our preparation to move here, trips to Perth and Queensland, not to mention the end of school year and a miryiad of farewells!
This year however someone pointed me in the right direction and said the simple words “Start Early!”
Go on, laugh! I know you want to!
This time of the year gets so busy with parties (lots of farewell parties) and preparing for Christmas and in our case a holiday to the UK (majorly excited to be going back there again!) that we tend to find ourselves at the end of the day collapsing with good intentions gone out the window the moment our head hits the pillow.
I’ve worked out my title page, and, put all my numbers on their cards and shoved them all in their pages.
Are you doing a December Daily? And how are you going?
